Background:

The aim of the school is to provide a quality education in a caring and disciplined community. The curriculum at King George V meets the requirements of the national curriculum, it is broad and balanced and aimed at developing a broad range of skills and interests in order to prepare students for an ever-changing world. Regular assemblies include consideration of moral and spiritual themes in a non-denominational manner. This school has embraced the governments agenda and offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities for students identified as being gifted or talented these include masterclasses, Saturday morning sessions at local universities, summer schools. It has a study support centre with excellent information technology and modern resources for learning. All students are able to use these facilities before, during and after school. The school offers around 400 hours of extra-curricular activities in the performing arts each year in drama, music and dance. The drama club meets every week providing training in acting techniques, voice and movement. In music there are opportunities for instrumental playing as well as singing. Regular activities include: string orchestra, rock band, choir and cheer leading. The aim of the school is to provide a quality education in a caring and disciplined community.
