Monkhouse is a primary school for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is five to 11. Physical education also plays an important role in the life of the school and pupils play sports such as soccer, rugby, netball, hockey, basketball, cricket, rounders, gymnastics, dance, athletics, swimming, short tennis and badminton. Visits are also arranged to extend childrens cultural experience, such as to opera, theatre and ballet. The school aims to develop and maintain a stable and happy school community in which each pupil can enjoy activities and experiences, which contribute to the development of his or her potential.
