George Stephenson Community High School is a secondary school and sixth form for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is 11 to 18. The school aims to provide broad and balanced curriculum. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. The school's facilities include two gymnasia, tennis courts, rugby pitches, football pitches, hockey pitches, one all weather pitch. The school regularly competes in both local and national competitions with considerable success, and dancers trained by the department regularly take part in regional dance festivals. The school aims to create a safe, positive and stimulating environment for learning by developing an atmosphere of tolerance, trust and respect.
