Background:
Venerable Bede is a Church of England voluntary aided comprehensive school for boys and girls aged 11 to 16. The school has superb facilities with six science laboratories, seven design rooms, five ICT suites, two music rooms and a large learning resource centre. There is also a sports hall and dance and drama studio. A variety of activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These include dance, soccer, rugby, hockey, cricket and table tennis. The various clubs include science club, language clubs, astronomy club, and writer's club. The school aims to create a stimulating, secure and caring environment within which all members of its community will realise their potential in the light of the Christian Gospel.
